Hello and Happy Friday! This is a very Happy Friday in my house as I am leaving for France in less than three days! The stories today may be a little more French than usual but I think you’ll enjoy them. I’m visiting the Bordeaux region and have appointments at two chateaus for tours and tastings! And then we head east toward Provence and the Riviera. But not before we visit the medieval city of Carcassonne. I cannot tell you how kind and generous people have been in the planning of this trip! So, go! Go with me on this journey. Link love won’t be back until I return but I’ll have plenty of other goodies for you while I’m away. Without further ado, here is what I have been reading this week.

link love

Travel: My new favorite blog! For gorgeous photos and travels through Paris, visit Paris in Four Months.

Wine: Here is a taste of Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion from my blogger friend Amy at Créatrice Mondial.

Food: Another fantastic blogger, Marjorie Williams, for visiting the markets of Paris and France.

Books: Short-story writer Alice Munro won the Nobel Prize for Literature this week. She’s only the 13th woman to do so.

Photography: Stunning shots of World War II devastated countries aligned with modern-day sights.

Comics: They made a Calvin & Hobbes documentary!

Television: If Breaking Bad characters were on The Simpsons

Nature: One of the casualties of the US government shutdown, National Parks are closed and losing quite a bit of money. Here are the most visited parks.

Animals: Texts from the cat…if you have a cat or just know one, this is for you.

Architecture: The many windows of New York City drawn in special fashion.

Cemeteries: In researching my trip to Paris, I found one of the more famous, Le Père Lachaise to be simply captivating. Then another blogger posted about the Montmartre cemetery in autumn. And then another blogger posted about Dublin’s answer to Le Père Lachaise, Mount Jerome. So haunting and quite beautiful. October seems like the perfect time to visit!

Death: What happens when a homeless person dies in New York City?

And from The Fiery Redhead this week…

It is officially getting cozy and colorful here in New York! 10 Reasons to Love Autumn in New York City.

One of my favorite wineries in Sonoma, the organic and beautiful Preston with their bold and smooth Carignane.

Have a great weekend everyone! I’ll be posting from France next week!
